Forest Green Rovers will take legal action against Peterborough over the League One side’s approach for their former manager, Robbie Savage.
Dale Vince, Forest Green’s owner, confirmed the club’s decision, saying it had “begun a legal process for the tapping up of our manager, now ex-manager, Robbie Savage”.
The Welshman left earlier this month to join Peterborough, despite Vince initially denying any discussions.
The Forest Green owner later claimed he was forced to agree to the move after Savage approached him directly.
Peterborough previously denied making an illegal approach for the former Forest Green manager.
Savage joined the National League outfit after leaving Macclesfield FC following a brilliant campaign that saw the Silkmen promoted to the National League North in convincing fashion.
After joining Forest Green, he guided the outfit to the play-offs but lost to Boreham Wood.
Savage left the club at the start of the month, with Vince previously saying Peterborough approached the Welshman without Forest Green’s permission.

He told the BBC: “Peterborough themselves have covered themselves in no glory here. They came to us and said, ‘We would like to speak to your manager’.
“We said no, and so they spoke to him, and then he came to us and said, ‘I hear Peterborough want to speak to me.’ So, that’s an illegal approach.”
Posh chairman Darren MacAnthony denied the claims, saying they behaved “100 per cent correct and proper, following all the rules”.
Vince previously confirmed the club would continue without a manager after Savage’s departure.
He said: “Nobody’s in the frame, nobody’s connected to the job, at the minute there’s no vacancy.
“At the moment, we’re going to try something new, we’re going to see how it goes, and we’ll see where it goes.
“We’re not in a hurry and we aren’t actually having any conversations, we haven’t spoken to anyone about the role.
“We like where we are, we’re going to see how it goes maybe for a few games, maybe for a month.
“The coaching team have been doing the heavy lifting anyway, the day-to-day coaching, they know the team inside and out and I think that the three of them make very balanced, rational decisions.”
Forest Green currently sit 15th in England’s fifth tier, with five wins, three draws, and five losses.
