Gregory Porter released his long awaited new album at the end of last month and it is full of soulful ballads but also mixes in jazz and soul. Gregory Porter’s All Rise weighs in at 1 hour 17 minutes of original songs that range from brassy heavyweight anthems to meandering melodies.

If you have never heard Gregory Porter sing then you are absolutely missing out. This is his sixth studio album and is one tohave in your collection.

Following on from his 2017 album ‘Nat King Cole and Me’, this new project sees the Grammy-winning singer return to original songwriting with help from British production team Oli Rockberger and Troy Miller. The album was recorded here in the UK with an 8-piece band and a 10-strong choir.

This powerhouse balladist hasn't had the mainstream success that others like Luther Vandross and Toni Braxton but his vocals are some you will never forget. His tunes and lyrics are as timeless as they are new. This is the type of music you will have on at a great dinner party or just a relaxing night with friends round.

Porter didn't release his first album until he was 40 but this American singer, songwriter and actor has a style all of his own that his fans love.
