About this episode
The podcast is hosted by Ali Whelan and features Oli Fawcett
Oli is still a youngster at only 29 but has been working since he was 15 after being kicked out of Grammar school for being gay. Coming from a "disadvantaged background" Oli feels he is one of the "forgotten generations" of the 90's & noughties and he says most of his work life has been driven by his determination to do well in life and make the most out of himself and that has included making some bold decisions.
From cultivating an interest in politics at aged 13, becoming a local councillor, to working in bars and events and then the army and prison service, Oli now works as a cinema manager, alongside his involvement with organising Canterbury pride and is loving his new career challenges.
