Urgent ‘do not eat’ alert issued to Britons over Ukrainian eggs linked to UK salmonella outbreak

The Food Standards Agency has issued an urgent “do not eat” warning after discovering Salmonella Enteritidis in eggs imported from Ukrainian producer Yasensvit Ltd, based in Kyiv.

The contaminated products have been linked to at least 36 confirmed cases of food poisoning across England this year.

Eggs bearing the stamp code 3UA1012066 are the subject of the alert, with the warning applying across all pack sizes and best-before dates from the producer.

The FSA has directed that all affected stock be withdrawn from sale and, wherever possible, recalled, warning that the eggs may pose a serious risk to consumers.
