Amazon Prime Big Deal Days: The 7 discounts that are genuinely worth your time and money

Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days sale ends tonight, October 7.

The site-wide sale boasts hundreds of thousands of exclusive deals across almost every department on the online superstore, including gadgets, kitchenware, game consoles, beauty, fashion, and toys. The catch? Unlike Black Friday, Prime Big Deal Days is only available to those with an Amazon Prime membership, which costs £95 per year.

Prime Big Deal Days is the sister sale of Prime Day, which takes place earlier in the year.

Without a Prime membership, bargain-hunters will be stuck paying full price for many of the items on sale. Amazon regularly refreshes its eligibility criteria for a 30-day free trial for Prime, so even if you’ve tested the scheme before, it might be possible to sign up again to secure the best discounts.

Just remember to cancel before the £8.99 a month subscription renews!

John Boumphrey, who heads up Amazon in the UK, said: “Prime Big Deal Days is one of my favourite moments of the year, giving our customers even more opportunities to make big savings ahead of the festive season.

“Our teams work hard all year round to bring customers great products at low prices, and we’re proud to be delivering to Prime members faster than ever before.”

But with hundreds of thousands of items on sale for Prime Big Deal Days, not every discount is worth your time.

Price-tracking platform thrifle.com did a thorough audit of every price cut in the Prime Day sale earlier this summer, and discovered that just 32% of the discounts were actually the product’s best price of the preceding year.

In other words, some two-thirds of discounts on Prime Day could’ve been bought cheaper at some other point during the last year. That research looked at worldwide prices, while consumer watchdog Which? focused solely on Amazon UK for its deep-dive into Prime Day. It tracked the price of 32 popular products on Amazon UK over the last Prime Day sale back in June, analysing the prices of products in the six months leading up to the sale.

Things were a little more positive than the thrifle.com report, with almost two-thirds of the deals not beaten in price over the previous six months before Prime Day. That means Amazon either topped — or matched — its best-ever price on these items. Given that six-month timeframe includes the previous Black Friday sale, that’s not too shabby.

So, there are bargains to be found. But not everything in the sale is a must-buy.

GB News has spent the last day scouring every (digital) shelf to sort the genuine discounts from the duds.

Nintendo Switch 2 – Lowest Ever Price

Global component shortages forced Nintendo to increase the price of its Switch 2 console at the beginning of last month, hiking the RRP up to £419.99. But one month later, Amazon has slashed this popular console to a record-low price. Yes, this standout Prime Big Deal Days discount isn’t just good compared to that new inflated price tag — it’s the lowest-ever price for this Nintendo console.

Amazon Kindle Colorsoft – Lowest Ever Price

Amazon just refreshed its entire Kindle lineup with a new lighter, thinner design. But the previous Kindle Colorsoft is no slouch. In fact, we awarded it five stars in our in-depth review. With a new Colorsoft incoming, Amazon has slashed the 2024 model to an all-time low. If you’ve been tempted by this e-reader, which boasts a colourful e-ink screen, waterproof design, and weeks of battery life, this is a great time to switch.

Ninja Prestige Filter Coffee & Pod Capsule Machine – Lowest-Ever Price

Ninja might be best known for its air fryers, but this versatile coffee machine combines filter coffee with Nespresso-compatible pod brewing. Not only that, but its design includes a built-in milk frother, so you can easily make flat whites, cappuccinos, and much more. Usually £249.99, this Prime Big Deal Days discount price-matches its previous record low. Just remember to register your machine with Ninja for a free 2-year guarantee!

Tefal Ingenio Dual Stack Air Fryer – Lowest-Ever Price

Tefal’s clever dual-stack air fryer promises all of the benefits of a dual-drawer machine without taking over your countertop. This slimline design was pioneered by Ninja, but this French brand has released a more affordable version. And now, it has dropped to a record-low price on Amazon. Cook up to four different foods across two drawers and two racks, while using 40% less worktop space than other 10-litre air fryers.

Google Pixel 10 Pro – Lowest-Ever Price

The Pixel 10 Pro is Google’s top-of-the-line Android smartphone in its 2025 lineup. While it’s been superseded by the arrival of the Pixel 11 Pro a few weeks ago, this flagship handset now costs almost 50% of its RRP. Packed with the latest Gemini AI features, a triple-camera system with 100x zoom and 8K video capture, and over 24-hours of battery life when in low-power mode, there’s still plenty to love about this Android phone.

Google guarantees seven years of new features and security updates, so there’s a lot of mileage left in the Pixel 10 Pro. And it’s never been cheaper to switch, thanks to the Pixel Big Deal Days sale.

Ring Video Doorbell and Indoor Camera – Lowest-Ever Price

If you want to keep a close eye on your home when you’re away, this twin-pack from Ring has everything you need. It includes a battery-powered doorbell with crisp 2K video feed from your front door and an indoor camera. This video doorbell lets you speak to whoever is at the door from anywhere in the world. Both security devices let you see in full colour, even in low light, thanks to the built-in night vision. Just be aware — you’ll need to subscribe to a monthly plan with Ring to access its best features

Apple Watch Series 11 – Lowest-Ever Price

Apple Watch Series 11 has dropped to its lowest-ever price in the Prime Big Deal Days sale… but this comes with some caveats. The 46mm model, the larger of the two sizes available, is now £31 cheaper than its previous record low. Series 11 tracks your exercise, steps, and sleep. It can also perform a clinical-grade ECG and monitor for signs of chronic high blood pressure and sleep apnea. It can connect you with emergency services if it detects a car crash or serious fall. But be careful: while the smaller 42mm model is also included in the Amazon sale, it’s not at its lowest price!

Amazon brings its Prime Big Deal Days sale to a close at 11.59pm tonight (October 7). Due to the sheer volume of orders, it could take a little longer than usual to deliver your order — even with Prime shipping perks.

Outside of its exclusive sales, Prime membership offers next-day delivery at no cost across millions of products sold on Amazon. In some parts of the UK, Amazon Now offers deliveries in 30 minutes or under.

Not only that, but it also unlocks access to Prime Video — the online superstore’s answer to Netflix, which boasts exclusive shows like Clarkson’s Farm, The Summer I Turned Pretty, The Grand Tour, Reacher, Fallout, and a reinvention of Stephen King’s Carrie from the writer-director behind The Haunting Of Hill House. You can also stream songs and playlists from Amazon Music and borrow Kindle books for your e-reader.

New customers can join at amazon.co.uk/prime with a 30-day free trial if eligible, then pay £8.99 per month.
